PPC Trends for Q2 2023

Welcome to the latest installment of MatchCraft’s quarterly PPC trends! This time, we will be looking at the trends we anticipate going into Q3 2023.

Our findings come from analyzing the performance of US English campaigns overseen by MatchCraft. If you’re ready to dive in, here are the categories and industries that have showcased extraordinary expansion and the most promising growth this quarter:

Average PPC Cost Per Click by Industry

Things have really shot downward over the last quarter, with Green Technology’s CPC dropping from $7.81 to $3.45 (-44.17%). As it stands, it has been overtaken by a slim margin ($0.19) for the highest spot by Law, which sits at $3.64. In third place for the highest CPC is Construction & Repair at $3.23, following closely behind Green Tech. Food & Beverage sit at the lowest CPC at $0.64, followed closely behind Arts & Entertainment at $0.65.

It is fascinating to see that the highest CPC industries have lowered their costs significantly, while some of the least expensive slightly rose. Such is the case with Arts & Entertainment, which saw a 4-cent increase over the last quarter, and Travel had an 8-cent increase from $0.81 to $0.89.

 

Average Click-Through Rate by Industry

This time around, it is not as obvious who has the highest average click-through rate (CTR) as so many industries have increased their CTR score this quarter. Two of the most prominent industries are Dating & Personals at 12.54% (up 5.11%) and Arts & Entertainment at 11.54% (a slight decrease of 0.23%). Real Estate has continued to maintain its spot at third place with 10.61%. Religion & Spirituality has not seen any growth, remaining in last place with the same CTR as last quarter at 3.37%.
